Big roach problem!!!!
Former Tenant
Pros:
Friendly neighbors, good location.
Cons:
There is a HUGE roach problem, to the point where there needs to be a serious extermination. Also my packages have been getting stolen. Management is very slow to respond or has ghosted me completely. Common areas left filthy with roaches, and have seem some in my apartment. I’m very clean, so there’s just a problem with them in the building. If there were no roaches this would be a great place!
Advice to owner:
Get serious about fixing the roach problem!!

Worst Landlord of all time
Former Tenant
Pros:
Huge space. Each bedroom had a bathroom.
Cons:
The landlord is a crook. They never returned the security deposit despite the apartment being left in excellent condition. I took them to court but they stalled so many times that I gave up. My hot water went out in the middle of the winter and they didn’t bring it back for a month. Getting anything fixed was impossible. The owner also yelled and said sexist stuff to me when I made reasonable maintenance requests. The a lot of the other tenants that lived in unrenovated units had it worse. They were clearly trying to push those people out.
Advice to owner:
Be a better person and treat people with respect.

Slumlord landlord
Former Tenant
Pros:
The people who live in this building are wonderful (except the super). Great sense of community.
Large apartments.
Cons:
Landlord is terrible. Won’t fix anything.
Super doesn’t do anything except harass people.
Advice to owner:
Do everything different and better.

Landlord Neglect to the Extreme
Former Tenant
Pros:
The only good thing about this building are the fellow renters.
Cons:
*DO NOT MOVE HERE*
HEAT AND HOT WATER OFTEN OUT
ROACHES IN APARTMENTS AND IN BUILDING
WAS TOLD BY A REPAIRMAN "NOT TO DRINK THE WATER"
LANDLORD UNRESPONSIVE - ALL HE WANTS IS FOR PEOPLE TO MOVE OUT SO HE CAN FLIP THE APARTMENTS
MANY PEOPLE HAVE MOLD AND LEAKS THAT ARE UNRESPONSIVE - PEOPLE WITH *CHILDREN*
LANDLORD HAS BEEN ON NYC's WORST LANDLORD LIST FOR YEARS AND YEARS
LANDLORD DOES NOT RESPOND TO NEED FOR REPAIRS, PEST CONTROL, OR CONSISTENT HEAT/HOT WATER
Advice to owner:
Sell the building to someone who cares about truly providing decent housing to people.

DO NOT LIVE HERE
Former Tenant
Pros:
The neighbors and community are amazing and the neighborhood is lovely
Cons:
DO NOT LIVE HERE. The management company is neglectful, rude, and lazy. Weve lived here for 2 years and had a leak in our bathroom for all but 2 months of it. It was different pipes every time, and took at times up to 8 months, a court order and withheld rent to get the owner to do even the barest of bare minimum repairs. The leak got so bad at times that we couldn’t use the bathroom at all. And the owner could not care less. Until we escalated it in court he had no interest in repairing anything, and every time something is fixed a new thing breaks, which speaks to overall maintenance he has no interest in doing. Heat throughout the building is extremely unstable, and the elevator is always broken. And when he does do repairs, it’s usually his “worker” who he sends to “fix” (aka paint over the problem). Cannot stress enough, don’t live here.
Advice to owner:
Sell this property and do everyone a favor.

Never live here
Former Tenant
Pros:
The community is lovely, but it is created as a response to the management
Cons:
Everything. Management is negligent, did not respond to a leak in our ceiling and bedrooms for literally 2 years. Refused to put a lock on our door. When he did call, he used condescending and even abusive language. Never. Ever. Live here. We are in an ongoing lawsuit (entire building vs the management) and he doesn’t even show up to court. DO JOT LIVE HERE.
Advice to owner:
I hope you stop owning property.
