Cockroaches will be your only neighbors here
Former Tenant
Pros:
Rent was fairly low for a studio, but for a reason. Right next to Sterling St Station with access to 2/5 trains.
Cons:
When I moved in in the winter time, there were SO many cockroaches in my unit like my title mentions. The building turns up the heat too high in all the units which attracts them in like crazy. The washing machines are always broken and don't get fixed for weeks on end. There's a guy who screams hallelujah in the streets with a microphone every sunday, and a poor elder lady who lives in the unit who screams nonsense daily as well. I've also been chased into the building by another crazy woman. All in all, just an okay neighborhood in terms of safety but really weird incidents happen all the time. There are also no good grocery stores in the area. I would not recommend anyone to live here.

Do yourself a favor don’t live here
Former Tenant
Pros:
Rent is somewhat reasonable. Super is very helpful. Very close to the subway and Prospect.
Cons:
The building is LOUD. At best a lot of socializing, loud music, at worst domestic violence. There is an older woman who lives on Floor 1 who literally wails and screams throughout the day. Also- mice, roaches, AND bed bugs. Wish I was making this up, but quarantining here was a nightmare. Neighbor across the street has major drug problems and harassed people that live in this building.
Advice to owner:
Literally get a grip on residents, there have been many moments where it has felt unsafe to live here because of the people . Be better about pest prevention and transparency’s issues like bed bugs and mice.

Big space, cheap rent, bad landlord responsiveness.
Former Tenant
Pros:
We were lucky to be facing the back of the building in the corner so the apartment was very quiet! Also love the ore war details and the light in the bedroom and kitchen. We also had a cute dining nook we loved. Also affordable!
Cons:
We had mice since we moved in and then the last year we got hit hard with roaches. The building will call the bug guys but it doesn’t do anything. We are having to leave because landlord won’t take appropriate steps to solve the problem. We didn’t have a super functional kitchen (very tiny and couldn’t open fridge all the way) and bathroom was a bit rough as well.
Advice to owner:
Take infestations seriously!! It’s so bad..
