Building Owners Leave Something to be Desired
Former Tenant
Pros:
Overall, the updated units are fairly nice and the layouts, though sometimes interesting choices, are solidly sized.
Cons:
I had a major water damage issue that took nearly four months to resolve and fill a hole in my ceiling, all through which, I was unable to contact and property manager or owner in writing and was only verbally offered $200 off of rent for the first month.

At least it’s Rent Stabilized
Former Tenant
Pros:
Rent Stabilized Close to trains Nice neighborhood Large bedroom Newer appliances Heat and water included Laundry downstairs
Cons:
Our ceiling in our bedroom has leaked twice in the last 3 months and it takes management over 2 weeks to even come and check things out. It feels like a health code violation by risking mold development.
We also have mice and cockroaches fairly frequently no matter the prevention methods and traps we have set.
The elevator breaks often too.
One super spread too thin between jobs.
Animals not allowed even though I see people with them constantly
Across from a school so if your unit faces the street you will be woken up for sure from 7:30-8:15 everyday
Advice to owner:
Hire more help for building maintenance please!!!!

Only if you're desperate
Former Tenant
Pros:
It was close to the place I worked
Cons:
The management is unresponsive and slow to address issues in the building. Avoid ordering items online as there is one or more porch pirates in the building who will steal your packages. Management addressed this issue by installing CCTV cameras in the hallways, but it is not evident that they actually work or do anything to prevent crime in the building.
The elevators in the building frequently do not work and usually smell of urine, worse in the warmer months.
In the basement, where the laundry room is located, you may frequently find pools of stagnant and dirty water as well as leaking pipes which are eating away at the concrete in the ceiling. The laundry machines are currently out of order and it is not known when management will actually restore the room to working order.

Not well kept.
Former Tenant
Pros:
Quiet, lots of space, decent location.
Cons:
Theft of mail, the "laundry room" is a terrifying and water damaged basement, zero contact with super available, smell of smoke.
Advice to owner:
Be accessible to tenants.

Management Doesn't Care
Former Tenant
Pros:
Apartments are big
Cons:
The management does the bare minimum. They have barely any cameras in the building. The laundry room is disgusting and they've allowed teenagers to turn into their own personal man cave and they have done nothing. Also the picture of the laundry room in apartment listings is NOT the laundry room. They don't enforce ANY of the rules of the building. People leave trash outside their apartments, eat and drink on staircases without throwing things away and on more than one occasion of seen feces in the hallways (human, dog, who knows??) I can't wait to get out of here.
Advice to owner:
Care about the building. Enforce the rules. fine people who don't follow the rules. Make the building what it used to be!

Not a good building
Former Tenant
Pros:
The hot water is hot and the heat works during the winter.
Cons:
The management is absolutely horrible. If you need repairs done be prepared to wait months for it and pest control what is that. Also the laundry room is beyond nasty and there’s always kids and random people smoking in it. And don’t expect to get your packages since there is a package thief which Managment knows about but doesn’t care.
Advice to owner:
Actually listen and care for your tenants and fix the issues which have been an on going situation for years now.
