It's just ok
Former Tenant
Pros:
Super living on site can be readily available to fix things.
Cons:
Trash tends to get blown across the front entrance sometimes which makes it dirty.

Wasnt great - think management changed and might be better now
Former Tenant
Pros:
Quiet building, rarely saw neighbors.
Cons:
Heat was too high - every unit would have windows open all the time even in 0F weather. Boiler would switch off overnight and you’d have no hot water until super turned it back on. Building changed management and was being renovated halfway through lease and they literally had boarded up holes in the stairwell that mice and garbage would come in

Generally good experience

The amenities are nice and well-maintained. The building is clean. Super is responsive most of the time. Everyone is pretty quiet.
Cons:

Decent Apartment
Former Tenant
Pros:
Pretty well maintained. New renovations are very nice ! Quiet neighborhood.
Cons:
Management is crap. There is a live in super through who is very helpful/ responsive. Building has a current issue with packages getting stolen by specific tenets on the 6th floor who are squatting. One huge draw back is you can’t order stuff to the apartment. The location is pretty dead, primarily Hasidic Jew neighborhood. No bars nearby.

Pests & Package Thieves
Former Tenant
Pros:
-apartment was spacey, dishwasher, laundry & gym in basement
-the super lived in the building and was very nice/responsive
-working elevator
Cons:
-The building had a pest problem. Our apartment (amongst others) had mice — and the building appointed exterminator didn’t do much about it. The super would also try to help, but ultimately it was up to us to take care of the problem, which never really went away.

-A lot of package thefts to the point that we stopped ordering things to our apartment. The building management tried to install an Amazon lockbox but they put it in the basement, so no delivery person could actually access it.

-Big management company that we had to deal with and was rarely helpful.

Great Value, Worst Downstairs Neighbor
Former Tenant
Pros:
Huge space, it's really great for the price.
Cons:
There is one tenant who blasts music so loud I can feel it and hear it in my room. This was the worst experience ever. Great apartment, but this neighbor made it a living hell.

Positive 2 years
Former Tenant
Pros:
Great amenities, responsive super
Cons:
They contract third parties to fix appliances and deal with pests. The process is a bit slow. The management has a lot of turnover. Difficult to figure out who you should be getting in touch with and hard to get a response at times.

Advice to owner:
Be more responsive.

Bad Landlords Here
Former Tenant
Pros:
The building is cool and the basement amenities i.e. gym, laundry, etc. are great. Street is nice and quiet.
Cons:
The building management company Shamco is terrible. They seem to constantly be trying to screw over the residents in any way they can. They are very aggressive and not helpful at all.

Shamco is a sham
Former Tenant
Pros:
Apartment layout is nice and big, lots of natural light, cute gym in the basement
Cons:
Constantly jerking us around and wouldn’t give us a copy of the lease we signed, took forever to fix recurring leaks in ceiling and had to be bugged about it over and over, we had mice, flies, and roaches, it gets so hot in the summer and also in the winter when the heat is blasted at night, management company tried to sneakily destabilize the rent even though it’s supposed to be a rent stabilized building, the busses and trucks outside were always going over a speed bump very aggressively and setting off all the car alarms, some of the original renovations weren’t even fully finished and just hidden behind appliances which is how mice kept getting in
Advice to owner:
Stop being so shady and follow real estate laws? Fix leaks in your tenants ceilings immediately and not weeks later, actually finish your renovations

Great location, bad management
Former Tenant
Pros:
The neighbors are lovely, the apartments are spacious, there are good amenities including a gym, bike room and laundry in basement and I am happy with the neighborhood and location
Cons:
There are mice. Packages are stolen and management refuses to create a secure area for them. Management is always impossible to reach and almost never solves issues with tenants
Advice to owner:

Hire and train staff to help solve tenants issues.

Great location, management could be better
Former Tenant
Pros:
Laundry room, access to subway station, updated appliances
Cons:
Roaches and mice sometimes, and the exterminator barely comes or does anything.
