Disappointing

Pros:
The super never comes here so if you wanted to run a meth lab out of your apartment, no one would stop you.
Cons:
When I moved in there was dried urine all over the toilet and old food stuck to the counters in the kitchen.
Every time it rains broken glass comes up through the soil in the back yard. The mosquitos are horrendous. Infested with slugs and snails. Back yard is virtually unusable.
Trash is never collected so it piles up in front of unit 1 for weeks. Neighbors complain. Rats moved in under the stoop.
The landlord doesn’t return calls and doesn’t have email. You can go to their office by appointment only but can’t set up an appointment because they won’t return calls.
Took them four months to give me a mailbox key.
There are only two meters for four apartments with shared wiring throughout the building so I paid utilities for at least two apartments for a year and had a terrible time finding out why my bills were so high. They’ve yet to return my call about this.
I tore out the rotting fence in the back yard that was a safety hazard and when I asked them to remove the pile of rotten wood they sent someone without telling him what needed to be done and he tore out every plant but left the rotten wood. There was a decomposed dead dog behind the fence.
Thermostat doesn’t go above 73 degrees.
Drains are terribly backed up. You can try draino but then the entire building smells like sewage for a few days.
Advice to owner:
Respond every once in a while.
Make sure a place is clean before a tenant moves in.
Handle the trash situation.
Don’t charge one person for all the building utilities.
Have any amount of respect for your tenants.

Management is the worst thing ever. This was my first apartment in ny and I should have trusted my gut from the first moment meeting these people and run away. They only have a PO Box, con Edison finally got into our basement after a week of no electricity and said the wiring was redone by management and almost caused a massive fire that could have killed us all. They ghosted me when we left the apartment and I never got my security deposit back. 2 neighbors had the same thing happen. It took small claims court for us to get a hold of them and receive our security deposit. The list of cons is endless. A friend in another one of their buildings had a similarly horrible experience. There was a problem with the gas line and management would not step
In to get it repaired. She had to cook on an electric stove for months.
Advice to owner:
Stop owning properties.

Rooftop access that’s literally it
Cons:
I was never able to tell if this company was straight up shady or just incompetent. They never mailed us our lease didn’t return our deposit even though we left it spotless. We lived on the top floor and the ceiling was leaking and no one ever came. As you enter the building there was leak going right into the light fixture and when I called them about it they said they’ll try to get someone on it next week! Next week? This could start an electrical fire. Glad we left but very cautious dealing with them. They run a a shady business out of a house in mid wood.
Advice to owner:
Stop renting out apartments in buildings that are falling apart and fix the issues in the building
