If Hell was a Residential Building
Former Tenant
Pros:
It’s central and accessible to the city.
Cons:
Truthfully, this is the worst building I’ve ever lived in during my 10+ years in NYC, which is a shame considering I actually love my apt. A tenant moved in earlier this year, and is basically squatting in her apt and hoarding in the hallways. Property management has done absolutely nothing about it. Garbage towers the hallways, the streets immediately in front of the building look like a 3rd world country, and there is graffiti and broken glass amid the destruction that this tenant has caused. She has virtually turned her apt into a hostel for the homeless and sketchy to visit at their leisure, whom storm in and out of her apt at all hours the night. There is conflict in the early AM hours almost consistently. The cops have been called by multiple tenants and this individual has been arrested 5+ times to no avail. She continues to wreak havoc on the building and we are all forced to live in fear and squabbles as property management has no interest in rectifying the situation. I hate to pull this card but I’m forced to believe it’s because the building is primarily vacated by minorities, hence no sense of urgency.

A 50/50 experience
Former Tenant
Pros:
Roof access
Passcode entrance
Laundry in building
Cons:
Only one dryer and washer for all the tenants
Repairman takes really long to answer
Advice to owner:
Be more empathetic to your tenants.
For the amount of rent paid, there should be more than one washer and one dryer.

Not the best, but better than some?
Former Tenant
Pros:
Heating/cooling unit in ever room of multi room apartments, laundry in the building, code to enter building, close to train and solid bodegas, parks nearby, view from roof
Cons:
Cleanliness is not a priority, have had roaches and mice, hallways/stairwells stay dirty, maintenance tickets can go unaddressed from time to time
Advice to owner:
Care about people that don’t look like you and don’t live in your community.
