Pretty good for sight unseen
Former Tenant
Pros:
The apartment/room I stayed in was accurate to the photos (I was unable to go in person to look for apartments)
Responsive landlord
The neighborhood/neighbors were really nice + friendly. Close to the B52/b38 buses + in between the A/C and J/M trains. Far enough away from Bushwick that it felt like a nice quiet neighborhood but close enough that I didnt feel totally detached from the party scene. Big kitchen + provided tenants with cookware. Air-con, kind of. Utilities included in rent
Cons:
In the evenings, there would be waterbugs in the kitchen EVERYWHERE. It was literally night/day no matter how clean I kept it.
Mold in the bathroom.
Started building a third room in the apartment the last three days I was in the apartment without prior notice (I had stuff in the living room which they put a tarp over so I could not access it / was worried that they would do damage to it). I had a pretty important document on the dining room table which they lost when they went into the apartment unannounced when I was not home. The second month, the person who manages the rent told me that she had not received my payment, even though I had sent the rent early. The apartment supposedly came with a washer/dryer but it was broken the entire time I was there (there are two laundromats within walking distance though). The Air-con was installed halfway through the summer, and could only be felt in the living room. When they built the aforementioned third room, this blocked the air-con + natural light off entirely.
Advice to owner:
Notify the residents of the apartment that you will be performing construction/do not come into the apartments unannounced
