Do not live here
Former Tenant
Pros:
The only positive things about this place are that you're relatively close to the C, are within walking distance of delis and laundromats, and a few good restaurants.
Cons:
The management is abysmal, worst we've had in the 10 years I've lived here. We were desperate right as the pandemic was happening and moved into an unclean, hastily vacated unit. No smoke alarm, dirty mattresses and furniture left behind, garbage left in cupboards and closets which we had to clean (place was advertised as "prefurnished". The previous tenants skipped out). We were not given full sets of keys until weeks after we moved in (had to cut our own). Our oven broke and was never fixed or replaced. Water damage was constantly brought up but never looked at. We were lied to as who the landlord was, found out who our building manager was right before we were forced out due to rent increase that was completely illegal. Neighbors are incredibly loud and you're next to several backyards that have parties past 3 am. Lease manager tried to get us to show the apartment ourselves to interested clients while we were in the process of moving, as well as trying to get us to film a walk through to provide them advertising the unit. The heat doesn't turn on until the very cusp of frigidness because they don't want renters using the heat before an official date. The management will NEVER respond for any repairs or damages, but will text you nonstop if you plan on renewing, vacating, if you'll be home to show the unit and when you'll be done moving. These people do not deserve a cent of rent. Absolute crooks to the T, and of course they kept our deposit past the 14 day limit and when asked to have it back, they declined on account of us "badmouthing" them and saying we didn't allow access to the unit 30 days before the lease was up. We never barred them from entering and weren't notified to show the unit until 5 days into the month. They kept asking for specific days we could show and we had full time jobs so we gave them weekends and late night times. Apparently that is "barring" from the residence.
Advice to owner:
I hope you never rent another unit and that you go bankrupt immediately.

Horrible, do not live here please
Former Tenant
Pros:
Literally nothing, I could not wait to get out of there
Cons:
Where do I start?
1) Keys were not ready at agreed upon time so moving day had to be pushed back because they could not “find” them
2) The apt door was covered in paper-mache that after looking closely was made out of a french novel about ww2 featuring nazis (they said it would be removed before move in but was not and I couldn’t remove it myself)
3) There was a bed frame with a mattress with a BLOOD STAIN left in the main bedroom and super would not help me move it
4) I was only provided with one set of keys for a 2 bedroom with 2 people on lease, I had to harass them for over a month to get a second key for the building front door because I legally could not copy it myself
5) Multiple holes were left in the walls upon move in, I was told to spackle over them myself
6) Landlord would show up unannounced and would JIGGLE THE HANDLE to test if door was locked before knocking once he couldn’t get in—once or twice I even heard him jingling keys in the lock but because the deadbolt could not be unlocked from outside he thankfully still could not get in. Despite this, when you tried to actually call about an issue they were nowhere to be found
7) There was an insane amount of mold in the main bedroom near the window and it took over a month to get the super in to get rid of it
8) Roaches constantly, would find them in cabinets and in drains
9) People were constantly yelling outside all throughout the night
10) Changed super half way through my lease without warning, was only conveyed through a small note on lobby door updating us for the phone number
11) Super once gave my number to another tenant without asking or warning bc that tenant was convinced I had a noisy ac unit in my window which I had to prove to him I did not
12) Packages were stolen very often—video camera in lobby did not work
13) Had to ask landlords for my security deposit back for over a month and they did not finally return it to me until I began filing legal action
14) Landlord gave out my number to several brokers who proceeded to harass me for the week prior to my move out asking me to allow strangers into my apartment during COVID times while I was immunocompromised (one broker even went as far as to call me a day after I had moved accusing me of not leaving the keys because the landlord hadn’t bothered to tell them that another broker must have beaten them there)
15) After moving out I was made aware of the fact that the Landlord company (it’s a super shady LLC, when you google the name on your lease it’s basically a shell company and the “address” online is not where I signed my lease but a random PO box in a UPS store, a specific PO box that over a dozen other LLCs have listed as their address as well) purchased the building via lies and manipulation of an actual Brooklyn resident who had owned the property for decades.
