In Need of Renovations
Former Tenant
Pros:
Decent location in Bed-Stuy. Charming brownstone.
Cons:
Old building that needs renovations to function well. Old pipes. I lived there for 3 years now and it was fine at first but after a while I realized the setbacks. The landlords are cheap and rarely helped with the constant roach problem that happened in the warmer seasons. When it was brought to their attention the first time, they just gave roach spray and once we started to complain again as it got worse, we only had an exterminator come by twice instead of it being on a consistent basis. Mold in the bathrooms because there isn't a working vent or a window in the bathroom. One of the doorknobs on the front doors came off and the hinge of the door was broken, that a neighbor had to fix so we wouldn't get locked inside. The landlords rather kick us than help us with our issues. The whole building is a safety hazard and is not registered with the state so beware of this if you are the next tenant.
Advice to owner:
Renovate the whole building or sell it to someone who will. Stop being so cheap.
