An Excellent Building
Former Tenant
Pros:
The Management company is responsive & keeps a clean building. It's warm & cozy in the winter, & comfortable in the summer. It's pretty quiet.
Cons:
The neighborhood, is not perfect like most of New York City but it's changing for the better now. I feel pretty safe, I haven't had any incidents. My rent has been fair. Not sure how it would be, moving in nowadays.

Landlord is obsessed with his building but does not provide heat

Pros:
Clean building, looks nice on the inside, well painted.
Cons:
The landlord refuses to provide heat. Also does not address tenants with respect. Floors are old and not maintained.
Advice to owner:
Provide heat at during the legally required seasons.

Landlord obsessed w/his building.

Pros:
Area was decent.
Cons:
Cold (I insulate the windows during the winter), concrete steps, owner hardly swept outside and never cleaned the hallways. Moses Cowan was weird and acted like an obsessed boyfriend. Worried about the one male who visited me regularly. Called cops on me because I installed WiFi during Covid 2020.
Advice to owner:
Document EVERYTHING. I am keeping emails, notifications, and old text (I do not communicate via cellphone since he called the cops on me). He set a court date with myself, and other tenants that moved out due to his harassment. No other tenants are in the building with me. BEWARE AND DOCUMENT EVERYTHING. Save pictures and all correspondence.
