Avoid at all costs - Landlords are a nightmare
Former Tenant
Pros:
- Great neighbors
- I loved the neighborhood
- Decent size for the price (though they have raised it a LOT)
Cons:
The building was a bit rough around the edges in terms of amenities, quality of fixtures/appliances, availability of superintendent and maintenance, but overall was not a bad place to live.

The biggest issue by far is the landlord. They do not have an email or address aside from PO box, or a direct way to contact management. You are passed to a front desk that is a different person every time you call, and they never remember the issues that you are following up about (often for the 5th, 6th, 7th+ time). They also are Hasidic (not an issue in itself, we live in BK so it's not unusual), which means that Friday afternoons and all weekend you are unable to get in touch with management or the super.

It has been over 1 year since I moved out, and I have not been able to speak with anyone aside from the front desk. I have called 30+ times because I STILL do not have my security deposit. I have contacted my attorney (sent 2 letters), the attorney general (unable to get in touch with landlord after multiple attempts) and small claims court is closed, so I am unable to do anything at this point.

Incredibly frustrating, and it seems like this is intentional at this point. I think they are aware that by going completely silent, we will be unable to do anything with the courts closed.
Advice to owner:
Answer your tenants calls and repeated legal warnings. I was a good tenant and deserve 100% of the security deposit back. This is predatory, especially considering the pandemic.
