Great at first, quickly deteriorated
Pros
Updated interior, high ceilings, great light. The super came often to clean and mop the stairs. We complained about roaches once, and they sent an exterminator to come every other week since and never had a problem with bugs again.
Cons
I'd say the bathroom was updated cheaply and the lack of ventilation allowed some mold in. The shower was not built correctly, so water would pool and create a nasty substance. The worst thing was, a rat DIED between the walls which made the smell of the apartment putrid. We contacted management, they sent in the super and they said they couldn't find anything and tried to gaslight us on the smell. When the regular exterminator came (he came every two weeks) he validated our concerns and said the apartment downstairs moved out because of that issue and a rat getting into the building because things were not properly sealed. We moved out shortly after, as the decomposing smell kept coming back. The apartment manager was also not very responsive and constantly frazzled, would ignore our requests or not take things seriously.
Advice to the owners
Take pests, like rats, seriously.
