Former Tenant
Pros:
Decent location - not far from the park or spots on Tompkins. The rent is "low" for the area.
Cons:
Overall poor building management. The building is falling apart, structurally (re: falling plaster from ceilings, slopping floors, a basement that looks like it could cave in any minute.) But the general upkeep of the building is totally absent. Dirty hallways, no garbage management, nary pest control, absolutely NO heat this past winter, and the occasional frozen pipes. Rats loved this place so much, they hung out in the walls. The building also went into foreclosure/receivership in our time there which was incredibly stressful.
Advice to owner:
Never own a building again
