321 Putnam Ave 🙄
Former Tenant
Pros:
Large basement, roof access
Cons:
Maintenance people hired to fix issues with the a/c never actually fixed anything and ruined our stuff. NO SUNLIGHT AT ALL! Place is dark as shit. Neighbors partying and screaming with their window open. Where does the window lead you ask? Right into a alcove, a tunnel if you will that sends all of the sound into the other apartments.
Advice to owner:
Hire better people to fix the issues the first time and we wouldn’t have had to have the same shit bag who doesn’t have decent manners

You don't want to live here
Former Tenant
Pros:
Laundry in basement In-Building Neighbors are generally okay and respectful Rooftop is cool and has good views of the city Renovated in 2014-2015
Cons:
They try to install central-AC in this pre-war building that completely fails. The heating is not distributed at all and neither is the cooling. You will definitely use a personal heater during winter as well as a fan.
Something is wrong with the electricity, massive electric bills. They even bought an electrician over to see if anything was wrong, but they couldn't find anything. One month in JUNE, the electric bill was $420 when only 3 people were living there and we only were home at night.
They try to split what used to be a 2-bedroom apartment into 4-5 bedrooms. Some rooms do not have a window and they are the size of a closet. And yet these rooms are charged $800+. Since they are split bedrooms, the walls are thin and you hear everything.
Directly across the street is a huge section-8 apartment complex. The kids/teens/young adults from that building, always sit/hangout/loiter on the stoop of this building, smoking/drinking and blocking the stairs/door. Prepare to tip toe around them every time you come back home or leave the building. This is a huge nuisance and it gets frustrating immediately. Because of this, if you are a woman, prepare to get cat-called or spoken to, every single time you enter or leave the building. I haven't seen any woman live longer than 1 year on a lease here because of this.
These people also hold the door open when you open the door, so they come into the lobby and steal all the packages. They also know the keycode to enter the building, since they are sitting on the stoop and are clearly seeing people enter the keycode.
Advice to owner:
Places like these expose human greed and its very disappointing. As soon as I started looking for new places to live, I realized how bad this one was and how stupid I was for staying here so long.
