Renters beware, this will not be a nice place to live
Former Tenant
Pros:
No longer living here
Cons:
There were so many issues living at 19 Halsey Street #1. Here’s just a few:
Mold, roaches (giant flying roaches), rats, no mail security (had to buy a P.O. Box), leaks, owners seem to have spent my rent deposit and are not delaying returning it until they get their next victim (maybe this will be you!). Oh and despite this being a high crime neighborhood the landlord refuses to put any security lights. People enter the yard like they live there (maybe you’ll get to meet them! In the dark!). The heater broke for a week. The owners patched it but didn’t really fix it so it makes a really loud noise when you turn it on. So you have to choose between freezing or hearing this annoying loud noise that sounds like the furnace is about to explode.
Advice to owner:
Get a legitimate property manager. Or better, just sell it. You should not be renting to people if you are unwilling to follow the law, provide warrant of habitability, and are unwilling to be responsible for your rental properties.
