Basically slum lord of an owner
Former Tenant
Pros:
Location, big windows
Cons:
The building is not properly maintained, broken stairs literally everywhere. The dust covering every inch of the hallways is from previous bandaid job construction they’ve done. The electric box is not up to code and literally still uses old fuses. The super is a drunk misogynist who will yell at you for asking to turn the heat on in late December. You have to file 311 reports with every maintenance request and then you have a 50/50 chance of it being fixed. Had to go through housing court to get security deposit returned and even though it was no proper amount.
Advice to owner:
Do better?

Not a bad spot
Former Tenant
Pros:
The super is really lovely, the building has good light, and things do eventually get fixed
Cons:
Noisy with the corner and the bus right there

take care of your tenants!
Former Tenant
Pros:
some nice neighbors, glad they kept alot of original details intact, carl is very nice!
Cons:
there’s often trash in the lobby and stairwells, garbage outside is full of rats, management is difficult to communicate with about repairs, water leaks, old appliances, system for storing packages so they dont get stolen is awful (no way of knowing if it’s locked in a utility closet in the lobby or it has been stolen)

Poor management, many repair issues
Former Tenant
Pros:
Location, super is very friendly and helpful.
Cons:
Management is difficult and unresponsive. The super is very friendly and helpful but management does not support him. The building has many issues with water leaks, faulty pipes, etc. Ceiling has caved in bathroom. Repairs happen on a slow timetable and management was difficult when compensating us for 60+ days in unhealthy bathroom living situation. Building is old and has many pest problems including mice and roaches and centipedes.
Advice to owner:
Put in more money to repairs, complete in timely manner
