Warning: Renter Beware
Former Tenant
Pros:
The location could not be better. Quick walk to AC Nostrand stop; quick walk to the C Kingston-Throop stop. Great coffee shops, sandwich shops, bars, and Herbert von King Park are all within walking distance.
Cons:
The building may be on a lovely block but inside it is falling apart. Shoddy window screens on windows that don't latch properly. There is one mailbox for the whole building. The two front doors don't lock which is a huge security issue. Apartment doors themselves are not fireproof; they are made of wood, like a bedroom door, and do not have strong locks. The owner doesn't turn the heat on in a timely manner when it is cold. There is an ongoing pest infestation problem that has never been addressed despite the issue being raised by multiple tenants. It took one carbon monoxide leak for the owner to install CO2 detectors and smoke detectors in the units and main egress areas. No monthly exterminator service. No one from the management comes to clean the building's main egress areas.
Advice to owner:
The building needs to be completely gut renovated. The landlord needs to put their tenants' needs first and to vastly improve response time. The landlord also needs to pay national grid on time so tenants aren't receiving notices that the heat/gas will be turned off due to late payments.

Landlord is completely evil
Former Tenant
Pros:
There are no bugs, and the neighbors are all very friendly and kind.
Cons:
Landlord is completely impossible to get in contact with. The building is not heated well. The heat turns off regularly and management does not respond to complaints. The heat was off for the entirety of February 2023 and our complaints were ignored. Management does not answer the phone, and they do not answer e-mails. They lie constantly and say that they will fix a problem and then it takes months. It has taken months to fix leaks. Months to fix a mice infestation. This is the worst landlord I have ever had in my entire life. He is a slumlord and he is evil.
Advice to owner:
PAY THE BILLS AND TAKE CARE OF YOUR TENANTS
