Decent value but awkward space and not much privacy
Former Tenant
Pros:
Good value / SqFt ratio
Good amount of storage
Big kitchen with a nice range
Good location super close to the Kingston Throop C train.
Cons:
The broker lied to us about numerous things especially bike storage and the privacy issues described below but also said they had a newborn (those are pretty quiet at least) when it turned out to be a 4 year old.

Awkward layout that feels a bit more like a huge studio than a true 1 BR

Landlords live above the unit and there's not enough privacy. They have a 6 year old (been here 2 years) that screams and throws tantrums every day before and after school. Sometimes you'll hear them fighting with each other. The entry to the apartment is not private it's a shared hallway they use to access the basement so you may bump into them or hear them from time to time on their way up and down. No back yard / garden access but they use it all the time so you may feel like you're in a fishbowl if they're hanging out back there.

If you set off the smoke alarm they will probably come down and knock on the door to check in.

All of that would be a lot more tolerable IMO if it was a just another tenant and not the folks who's housing your subsidizing.

Responsiveness to repairs was mixed. Most things haven't been an issue but the lights in the whole apartment flicker regularly and despite many asks about it they brushed us off saying it must be our bulbs.
Advice to owner:
Get a broker that's more honest about what living there is actually like. Show more respect for tenant's privacy. Fix the electrical.
