Great building and location
Former Tenant
Pros:
1. New building with good layouts, 2. Right near subway station and other transportation (bus to downtown Brooklyn, Williamsburg, 15 min walk to G train), 3. Good amenities (gym, roof, grills), 4. Good garbage management & cleanliness, 5. Walking distance to a lot of neighborhoods (Crown Heights, Clinton Hill), 6. Price for first 2 years was reasonable, 7. Neighbors are respectful
Cons:
1. Management generally responsiveness to requests, but takes a while to fix things. The door handle on the front door has continually been broken and it took a long time to fix even a after several requests, 2. Management is trying to raise rent over 10% this year when we've been living in the building for 2+ years, even when similar (esp luxury) buildings in area remain unoccupied or at lower prices, 3. Mosque outside got a new speaker or microphone so extra loud during the day and odd hours, and there's also a lot of ongoing construction, 4. Maintenance of amenities not the best - for example, the roof furniture isn't covered so the rain and weather have taken a toll on them, 5. Cheap appliances because we have had frequent issues with fridge, AC, washer/dryer, etc.
Advice to owner:
Don't raise the rent over 10% to longtime residents

Gigantic rent increases, expensive utilities, heartless landlords
Former Tenant
Pros:
Neighbors are great
Cons:
For landlords who claim to be such men of god that they aren't reachable for weekend emergencies, they don't care at all about forcing an entire building of tenants out of their homes. We have only been here 1 or 2 years, yet they are still raising rents $500-$700 per month for everyone. They will do the same to you next year if you move in.

Utilities double what my friends in other buildings are paying.
The mosque is loud multiple times a day. (Broker will intentionally bring you when call to prayer isn't happening so you don't know.)
Elevator unreliable.
Building front door keeps breaking.
Refrigerators/freezers are already small, but start leaking and can only be replaced with smaller fridges.
Walls are full of metal and hard to mount things into.
Whole first year was construction and no one was given credit.
Package deliveries can't always enter and management won't offer door code or connect virtual doorman for phone app access.
Gym is sparse.
Shower water pressure low.

Good building overall
Former Tenant
Pros:
1. New, clean building
2. Small community feel with neighbors
3. Good unit layouts and design
4. Nice rooftop and view
Cons:
1. Building management is biggest con. You might not have to interact with them much, but they sometimes drag their feet addressing concerns.
2. Super lives in the Bronx and can take a while to come fix things. Some people have locked themselves out of their unit and takes days to get back in.
3. Mosque next door, traffic, and people outside generally contribute to the noise level which isn’t terrible but not quiet.
4. Some of the other tenants aren’t extremely considerate (probably not unique to this building). Typically trashing community areas like the roof, elevator, etc.
Advice to owner:
Number one thing would be dedicated super that’s close to address tenant concerns in a timely manner
