Cons:
The landlord is one of the most frustrating and strange people I’ve ever met in my life. He goes by several different names. We called him Aaron but after asking other tenants we learned that he also goes by Benjy, Hershel, Mordecai and Malik.

Upon moving in Aaron will tell you that he is a good landlord, but he is nothing of the sort. After three months of living there Aaron had already made several advances at my roommate, and even tried to get in her bed with a loosely propositioning her for sex. Another time he told her she was the most beautiful women he’d ever seen in his life in front of his son. Disgusting. When I confronted him about it he told me that it must had been a misunderstanding because he “doesn’t speak English too good”. He’s as fluent as I am.

Aaron also kept the apartment in a state of disrepair always. Once leaving us without a working fridge for two weeks, then finally replacing it with a fridge for a college dorm.

The apartment had water issues (sometimes we had to take showers with water from an electric kettle), we also had problems with the electric and it was also infested with beetles.

Aaron will also hire people off the street to come fix things for you, forget to pay them and they will call you at all hours of the night looking for money.

When he gave the apartment to us it was filthy, the previous tenants furniture, clothes and dirty dishes everywhere. The place was also covered in dirt and cat hair. He never prepared for our arrival, he made other tenants in the building take some of the remaining furniture and we had to remove the rest.

When Aaron gets caught fucking up he will flash you puppy dog eyes and ask you if you’re still his friend- I would never be friend with someone that is such a disgusting, cheap, pathetic, depraved, pervert.

Anyway, I couldn’t be more happy to be writing this in a normal apartment build with no dead beetles in my bed.
Advice to owner:
Stop being a landlord and get psychiatric help

Neighbors are nice/quiet
Cons:
- Main areas smell bad, are filthy and never cleaned/no super
- Several power outages that relies on two apartments to reconnect (no individual power boxes)
- Landlord not responsive in power outages
- No individual heat controls (managed by one apartment in the building)
- Repairs are slow and poorly done or not done at all
- Presence of mold
- No ventilation/windows don't open
- Building is illegal/landlord does not have a certificate of occupancy
