Do Not Rent Here
Former Tenant
Pros:
The neighborhood is great, and it's nice to be on the block with a couple nice restaurants, a cafe, a grocery store and a dry cleaner.
Cons:
The building is run with no care for tenants. The front door swells with humidity and does not close during summer because it is broken, but they won't fix it. There is no heating installed in the bathrooms, and the temperature is in the 50s with all the heat in the rest of the apartment on, and they won't remedy it. Lights were out in the hallway for two months without fixing them. There have been leaks in the apartment from the roof, and they have done small patch jobs that don't fix the problem – the leaks have continued in our neighbors' apartment for months. There was a dead rat outside the door for a month. They didn't respond when we messaged them about it. Look up reviews online for YHT Management, and you'll see this is not an isolated case. Both tenants in the building are moving out at the end of this cycle, and both tenants moved out at the end of the last cycle (we should have taken that as a clue). Living here has really been the worst living experience in my life.
Advice to owner:
Sell the property to someone who knows how to run a building.
