Terrible, Unresponsive Management. Okay building.
Former Tenant
Pros:
The appliances are nice in the apartment are nice. building is nicely renovated. The location is incredible, steps of the C!
Cons:
The management is very unresponsive to issues. Super can takes days or weeks to come for an issue. Laundry room has had 3 out 8 machines broken and they have not been fixed in month. Tenants have complained of the virtual doorman system breaking and the building has refused to give us keys.

do NOT live here
Former Tenant
Pros:
the building is in okay condition, but it’s a fairly new building so that’s not saying much. tenants on the 4th floor have already complained about rain leaking and water damage. the hallways are pretty dirty and the laundry room is not clean and several washer/dryers don’t work properly
Cons:
don’t live here unless you want to fight YHT management on every single issue you have. they charge fees for every single thing imaginable, and they are horrible about response time when you have issues needing to be solved. and they don’t communicate at all about when someone will be coming to fix your issue, and that’s even if they end up showing up at all! you’re telling me you can’t call the morning of and say “hey I’ll be there around this time”??? do noooooot live here unless you want to pay insanely high rent for the most mediocre apartment ever
Advice to owner:
get a better management company

Not worth the cost

Ok management, spacious but feels like a rip off
Former Tenant
Pros:
YHT management is responsive most of the time, enough privacy. Bathrooms and kitchen are modern.
Cons:
I had a room with 2 skylights and a window. Great for light but in the summer it felt like a green room and in the winter it got really cold, I’d have to crank the heat up all the time. Management won’t fix things that are theirs to fix, Cheap fixtures on doors never got fixed for example . Hallways sometimes smell like trash. Expensive laundry. MANY bugs in basement floor— needs better pest control.
Advice to owner:
More accountability for things that need to be fixed. Better pest controls more reasonable rent .

Fine, but not great
Former Tenant
Pros:
big apartments (not big for the price any more)
Cons:
building is gross in basement - laundry and trash rooms never cleaned. Owner hires some of the worst handymen Ive ever dealt with. Original renovation was done with bare minimum (cabinets separating from wall, calking falling off, etc)
Advice to owner:
Just pay 5 hours more of attention to this building a week and it would be excellent.

Nice but i'm being WAYY overcharged and I feel ripped off.
Former Tenant
Pros:
nice windows with lots of natural light, tall ceilings, new kitchen, hardwood floors, central AC
Cons:
weird kitchen sink, shower pressure sucks, paying too much for the location, a few unpleasant homeless people downstairs at the subway stop, we had a leak in our ceiling that they claimed to fix three times already and every time it rains, it leaks all over again. They won't fix the issue.. I'm worried about the next major storm.
Advice to owner:
Be more reasonable with your rent and be more responsive to management tickets/maintenance requests

Worst experience of my decade in nyc
Former Tenant
Pros:
Location; outdoor space
Cons:
Unresponsive management. Everything is cheap and break and they never fix. Everything is dirty. Trash is a disaster. Common spaces are horrendous. Everyone moves after 1 year

Worst building experience
Former Tenant
Pros:
Location just steps from the C train
Cons:
Management completely unresponsive and difficult to reach, building is disgracefully dirty, trash management is a mess and sometimes left for weeks, causing bad smells, when things break management can take weeks or even months to actually fix, fixtures are cheap and break often, lots of leaks followed by shoddy patchwork, location is near a methadone clinic and lots of drug use on the streets right outside the building, building not at all up to fire code
Advice to owner:
Get your shit together, clean the building, hire a maintenance company to regularly clean and remove trash

The owner harasses and intimates tenants
Former Tenant
Pros:
It's newly renovated. The people in the building are nice.
Cons:
The owner hasn't returned anyone's security deposit. You can't get in touch with the owner. Building issues are ignored on multiple occasions.
Advice to owner:
Treat people the way you want to be treated. Stop using housing court as a threat.

Average building at best
Former Tenant
Pros:
Location is good.
Cons:
Management are awful. They even got a new company 6 months ago and still awful. No one knows anything about the building and is very dirty in the communal areas. No one cleaned before I moved in. Had to travel deep into Brooklyn to get the keys. My wifi guy couldn’t set it up because a door was locked to something and no one could open it for 4 days. The hallways also smell.

Horrible management- avoid
Former Tenant
Pros:
Great location, large unite
Cons:
-poor management that keeps reorganizing to avoid fault - looks shiny and new but it’s all cheap - expensive laundry The landlord refused to make necessary repairs to the unit. People usually live here only one year
