Found a Gem in Brooklyn
Former Tenant
Pros:
For the space and location, this apartment was an excellent value. I enjoyed living here a lot. Heat was always comfortable in the Winter. Summer was always cool inside. The landlord fixed everything expeditiously when asked. Building was quiet inside and in the front. This prewar building has a unique charm with details throughout I enjoyed seeing daily. Very large windows gave great light and brightness. A real find in Brooklyn when I was there…
Cons:
: I couldn’t afford to live there anymore since the neighborhood is more trendy now. Walking up stairs could be tiring at times

Terrible landlord, don’t rent
Former Tenant
Pros:
Location. That was is it
Cons:
Landlord kept my deposit illegally, and he did the same to every past tenant from the building that I spoke to. He made living in this building very unpleasant. He put a clause in the lease that no ac units were allowed, making the space unlivable in the summer. There are so many terrible instances, injustices, and preditarh behaviors that I could list. Just stay far far away!

Moses Cowan is a bad faith actor
Former Tenant
Pros:
Clean and quiet
Cons:
Moses Cowan induced me into signing a lease I never received a copy of for an apartment he had illegally converted. He then harassed me, accused me of false damages, refused to grant me a walkthrough upon move out, and then withheld my deposit. He has racked up over 30 complaints in the NYC department of buildings. He is frequently sued for his horrible behavior. Stay away from this slum lord!!
Advice to owner:
Have fun being destroyed in court :p
