Let me just put it this way. My refrigerator broke and it took them 4 months to replace it...with a model that was too wide to sit flush against the wall, taking up a ton of space. That was in February, and now it's fall. When I call maintenance it goes to voicemail, which is pretty standard for the three years I've lived in this place. Other neighbors have had similar problems getting repairs done in a timely manner. Oh yeah, and the oft-discussed roaches. The best you can do is to set down some of those gel traps and use the exterminator services each month, regardless if you see a bug or not. You will almost DEFINITELY see bugs; it's just a question of whether it's a daily jumpscare or monthly/seasonally if you're lucky.

Treat tenants like people and give Pedro a gd raise!!!

Sadly, yes. Best case scenario (no pets, regular cleaning, using exterminator and putting down traps) you'll see one or two every few months in the summer and maybe one all winter. It's pretty unavoidable in a building as old and big as this.

I can’t speak to 2024, however I lived in the building in 2022 and had the most horrific roach infestation (I’m talking hundreds of pregnant roaches for months). The exterminator who came weekly (and I naturally befriended on account of how often he was in my apartment) said that the problem would never go away unless they gassed the entire building and tore down some walls to find the origin of the problem. I doubt they ever did that because management was so cheap and didn’t care at all about the wellbeing of their tenants. I also had a myriad of other safety concerns with my apartment that went ignored even after I took them to housing court. Avoid this building and management.
