I’ve never hated a landlord so much
Former Tenant
Pros:
- big windows
- nice location
- amenities, in concept, are nice
- the super is nice (and picks up a lot of slack from the landlord)
Cons:
Where to even begin? All of it stems from shitty management and cheap, fast construction
- landlord talks back to tenants for very reasonable complaints (like heat, electrical issues, pests). I’ve never seen anything like it.
- many units in the building have problems with leaks every time it rains heavily
- even the electricians commented on how cheaply built this place was bc there’s constant short circuiting
- pests in apartments and common spaces (including mice in the rooftop grill)
- walls are paper thin. I could hear my neighbor sneeze
- landlord is constantly out. Basically unreachable thurs-Sunday every week. Emergency line just disconnects if you call it. Constant holidays with no back up
- plumbing issues!! tenants using the amenity space toilets in the morning
- common spaces were never finished, including the roof, lounge, gym and even parts of the hallways or stairwells
- clear bigotry, specifically towards women
Advice to owner:
You need back ups. It’s not reasonable to not be reachable or available for very standard habitability issues (electrical, heat, leaks, plumbing)
