Sketchy and Unpleasant
Former Tenant
Pros:
Location-wise, it is relatively close to all Williamsburg has to offer. Decent price for the size, but you get what you pay for (see below)
Cons:
The actual block this building is on is super sketchy and gross. All the men on this block love to hang out on the streets all day every day and catcall you. Every. Single. Time. Some guy who lives in the building sells drugs from the building, and there’s always cars waiting around for deals. The building is also next to some halfway houses. Lots of messed up people chilling around. I was often followed around this area and had one really terrible incident of someone following me into the elevator then trying to come into my apartment after me, then chased me down the stairs and was hiding in the elevator when I came back escorted by police officers. A lot of the tenants are rent stabilized and like to leave their garbage in the hallway, making it very smelly. I’ve never seen so many huge water bugs than in this apartment. It was my first time seeing them in my apartment in 9 years in nyc. The elevator was also often broken. The water was also always rusty. It’s also very noisy with the highway right there and these guys who live the block over rev their engines all the time. There’s also music blasting all day from the guys chilling outside all the time. I would not recommend for females who live alone.
Advice to owner:
Get a new damn entrance rug! It’s so foul and stinky especially when it rains.

Good for the price
Former Tenant
Pros:
Decent prices, close to everything, nice super
Cons:
People hanging out outside the building, specially during the summer. They make it quite uncomfortable for a girl to go in and out the building. These people (at least some of them) sell drugs, so you’ll see some dealing occasionally + some drug addicts asking and even crying for them I never felt in danger, but I did feel uncomfortable Packages getting stolen Here and there someone will turn their music up VERY loud for 5 minutes. Happened once every two weeks
Advice to owner:
Make sure you are ok with the drug dealing situation. Again, they won’t do anything to you, but if you are a woman they will look at you and greet you on a nasty way, occasionally

Does not ever fix plumbing.
Former Tenant
Pros:
Pretty decent location.
Cons:
Always smells like cat piss, always noisy outside, never works on plumbing issues. Will keep jacking up prices even though they have not invested 60k into remodel (per city law to allow a landlord to raise rent).
Advice to owner:
Actually remodel your units before raising the rent. Clean out the stars weekly. No loitering sign outside building would be nice. Send an actual plumber to fix issues, not the super that doesn't know what he's doing.

Decent Apartment with Aging Issues on a Shitty Street
Former Tenant
Pros:
Close proximity to train and Williamsburg, decent size, owners are reasonable and address apartment issues promptly, chill
Cons:
Disgusting sour smell every time you enter the building, neighbors like to have block parties outside and sexually harass you every time you step outside, cockroaches.
