Loud and echoing hallways
Pros
+In-unit washer dryers are nice +Nicely finished apartments with fancy appliances +Best shower I've ever had in an apartment (when it works, it’s broken multiple times) +Roof deck is nice and usually clean +Good location in reference to the G and good restaurants/etc. +Super is helpful and responsive +Hallways and common areas cleaned often +Bodega on first floor
Cons
-Loud hallways are made of tile and echo everyone’s living room noises (including a LOT screaming/crying children from the 2nd floor, people DJing, people hanging out in the hallway) -Neighbors are not very considerate or friendly -Unresponsive management company unless related to your lease ending/starting -Expensive to heat -Complain to the management company as much as you want, they won’t answer unless it's regarding payment -Small rooms for price -Issues with ants -Loud restaurant on first floor -Weird issues with address - 972 Manhattan not registered with USPS - all non lease related stuff is 141 India St. Made getting a license annoying and caused some initial mailing issues since management doesn't share.
Advice to the owners
Be more responsive to neighbor issues and put some carpets in the hallways for sound deadening
no hot water ever, terrible service and response time on maintenance/repairs
Pros
nothing good to say
Cons
Terrible customer service. If there are any issues with the apartment building or unit that needs fixing, good luck! You can put in all the maintenance requests through their portal, call, email, and reach out every possible way dozens of times, but nothing will ever get fixed. Takes multiple outreach attempts to even get a response, and then actually getting them to appropriately act on solving something (even something as essential as ensuring hot water is running).
