avoid at all costs
Former Tenant
Pros:
none at all
Cons:
Incredibly sketchy owners and building management. They refused to do anything to fix serious issues. The building management is IMPOSSIBLE to get a hold of. You call their office and it goes to an awful receptionist who tells you everyone is “unavailable” and refuses to give you direct contact information. It’s extremely difficult to get in touch with anyone about problems and when you finally do they will completely stop responding and never fix the issues. Only move here if you are absolutely sure you will never need anything to be fixed because you’ll never be able to reach someone. The building doesn’t give a shit about you and will try to get you to move out so they can move on to the next victim
Advice to owner:
Fix things. Fix problems. Stop being so fucking sketchy

...Don't do it!!
Former Tenant
Pros:
Greenpoint is a great neighborhood
Cons:
By far the most poorly managed building I lived in. The apartment itself is ok if nothing goes wrong... but count on something going wrong. Count on simple quality of life issues that you probably have taken for granted in past apartments, like gas leaks, broken locks, plumbing issues, roof leaks, rats, and basic safety.

Dirty and noisy but conveniently located
Former Tenant
Pros:
-The unit was rent stabilized when I moved in and I called it home for a long time. -Centrally located with close proximity to the G train, Key Food, and Laundromat. -Unofficial roof access with abandoned patio furniture ok views.
Cons:
-Building is cheaply constructed with no sound proofing between units. You can hear EVERYTHING your neighbors are doing. -No way to get packages delivered and/or they will get stolen. -Very poor trash management and cleanliness of the hall and stairs. -You have to pay for heat and hot water and, since the building is not insulated, it gets drafty and expensive in the winter. -Rent is too high for a building with zero amenities. -Lots of tractor trailer traffic on Greenpoint Ave which creates noise and air pollution.
Advice to owner:
Do a better job at cleaning and maintaining the building.
