Good location but paper-thin walls and bad neighbors
Former Tenant
Pros:
Quiet block, near McGolrick Park, apartments with direct sunlight suitable for single person or couple (but too small for family).
Cons:
Apartments are railroads, so middle rooms don’t receive direct light (but rooms on either end of building do). Walls are paper-thin so everyone can hear loud noise coming from other apartments in building. Don’t move into 1R for this reason; the family in 1L are very loud and not going anywhere, as they have lived there forever. Other units are fine, with 3rd floor apartments probably being the most ideal. The landlords are an elderly Polish couple who live in LI but come by the building often.
Advice to owner:
Don’t rent out 1R as long as the loud family in 1L is thee. Clean the hallways from time to time (or ever).
