it’s not ideal
Former Tenant
Pros:
Location is great
Cons:
Landlords are corporate, don’t care about the building or the people in it. Evicted everyone when they bought it, didn’t update anything, triples the rent, ruined the back yard.
Advice to owner:
Care more

New Ownership is Awful
Former Tenant
Pros:
Up until May, the building was owned by a small landlord and he was great. Really cared about his tenants. But a group of investment bros offered him a large lump of cash and he took it.
Cons:
New investment bros are very very bad. They evicted everyone who lived there and tripled the rent to do monthly rentals for people staying in the city short term. Insanely gross stuff. Not just evicting people, but charging people who don't know better 3 times more than it is worth. They slapped a coat of paint on it, put in new appliances and said it was a "gut renovation."
Advice to owner:
I really just hope they get soaked and can't rent out these places, but it is new york so there is always some rube who will pay it and think its normal.
