Always 100 degrees and plenty of roaches
Former Tenant
Pros:
Unit has a backyard, except it’s covered in vines and mosquitos.
Cons:
No heat control, no pest control, hundreds of roaches roam free in the building. There is no super so nothing ever gets fixed and trash is so bad that it doesn’t always get picked up from sanitation.
Advice to owner:
Get a super!

Pest/garbage maintenance
Former Tenant
Pros:
Nothing at all
Cons:
Pest and garbage maintenance and hallway cleanliness is absolutely awful. Holes in the wall and gaps between floorboards are bad and the radiator sounds like it’s gonna explode any second. Also a continuous leak that they can’t fix in the radiator
Advice to owner:
Get a better super or lower the rent for this quality of living

Noise, Mice & Roaches in a Nice Location
Former Tenant
Pros:
Great location and a fair amount of space.
Cons:
Too many to list. To keep it short - my partner and I both had respiratory issues while living there. Also, despite cleaning, sealing holes, etc. there were still large roaches and sometimes mice.
Advice to owner:
Clean out the mold or whatever’s in the walks, stop putting the same crappy carpet down in the hall, get a regular exterminator into the building.
