Worst Landlord Ever
Former Tenant
Pros:
Clean and in a great neighborhood close to the subway
Cons:
The landlord is horrible. The lights in the hallway were almost never on bc she didn’t think being out past 10pm was acceptable so I would have to walk up three flights of stairs in pitch black. Movers needed to take the door off the hinge to get my sofa in and she screamed at them for 45 minutes (no damage was done). I wasn’t allowed to have friends over after midnight unless we tip toed and whispered. I gave my sister a set of keys when she was visiting and was told to immediately take them back, only the lease holder could have keys no exceptions. She also screamed at my sister in the hallway because she didn’t recognize her. And the worst one…. When I found an eligible tenant who made 40x the rent with great credit to take over my lease she said “I will not allow someone to just come in off the street and rent this apartment”. Where did she think I came from when I rented? She’s out of her mind. Ended up paying 10K to get out of my lease but it was worth every penny to not have to deal with that horrible woman. These are just a *few* examples.
Advice to owner:
Mind your own business and stop acting like everyone is out to get you and ruin your life.
