Landlord is trouble
Former Tenant
Pros:
Building is pretty quiet.
Cons:
Landlord is delusional!!! Old man who lives in the building and “forgets” conversations you have with him to then take advantage of you in the long run. Things don’t get fixed, including heat.
Advice to owner:

Building is Nice but Landlord is a Huge Jerk
Former Tenant
Pros:
The apartments were relatively clean and the neighbors kind their own business. Apartments are handed over in working order.
Cons:
The apartment is extremely loud because the windows are old as hell and directly face grand street, which is a busy thoroughfare. The landlord would literally scream at you in the street if you asked him to do something he didn’t want to, which is almost anything. He will blame you for anything that goes wrong. He comes off really easy and sweet at first, but he is a wolf in sheep’s clothing. Really a huge jerk. I paid every month on time and did most of my own repairs, and he still found ways to scream at me and blame me for crazy things. Also cheap as hell. Also has no trash receptacles, just wants you to keep filthy garbage in your apartment until trash pick up days, where you need to put your garbage bags directly on the sidewalk.
Advice to owner:
Don’t scream at people to get what you want. Bullying is dead. Also, get some trash cans for gods sake.
