Avoid Avoid Avoid
Former Tenant
Pros:
The kitchen has been recently remodeled and the bathrooms have great water pressure. Washer and dryer are new and convenient.
Cons:
Management is horrible. They will ignore you for MONTHS. Dead roaches in the hallway and trash is never managed. The people who manage this building lack intelligence and should consider working somewhere within their skillset - perhaps cleaning the garbage and roaches from the building.

a mostly nice experience
Former Tenant
Pros:
Beautiful living room, bedrooms. super nice bathrooms. Plenty of light.
Cons:
heat went out in late December for a month, we only got $700 refunded. Some pests in apartment. junkies on our stoop most nights, sometimes they make lots of noise at night. frequently we'll see needles down there. the neighborhood is nice besides the exact corner this place is on.
Advice to owner:
the management just recently changed so its hard to say

Nice apartment, management could be nicer
Former Tenant
Pros:
recently renovated, amazing showers, quiet in building neighbors
Cons:
The bodega by the apartment is always busy and there are cars playing loud music constantly and loud yelling
Advice to owner:
Be more considerate and kind when talking to tenants

Rat carcasses, flesh flies, and indoor rain — oh my!
Former Tenant
Pros:
5 min walk to Graham Ave. This isn’t worth it though. Nothing would be worth it.
Cons:
On week one of moving in, there were flies everywhere which turned out to be “flesh flies” that were feasting off the dead rat carcasses in the walls. Just a little welcome home fun to start what would be the most chaotic 12 months :)

This was followed with water pouring out of ceiling lights randomly throughout our time there, which later led to 2 huge leaks in both a bathroom and closet. Our landlord / building management made it as difficult as possible for us to get this fixed, constantly sending people who were not capable of fixing these issues. They ended up cutting a huge hole in the bathroom ceiling, taking a look, and saying “we’ll just leave it like this until we figure it out” then didn’t ever figure it out and only later closed it up and painted over it months later because of pests and cold air coming through.

This is only the tip of the iceberg — weeks of no heat or hot water, garbage overflowing onto the sidewalk, basement flooded with a foot or two of water. I had put together an entire file of issues with the building management, and attempted to take them to housing court but was threatened by them verbally over the phone.

I don’t know if the building management is different now, but wow. The level of disrespect! 311 had visited many times. I do not recommend living here, not even for the convenient location.
Advice to owner:
If you are still INK 243 Jackson LLC, I hope you have gotten it together by now and are treating the tenants with respect, especially the original apartments who you cannot force out. If you wouldn’t live here, treat it like you would.
