Pre War building
Former Tenant
Pros:
I enjoyed the convenience of location and the roof had spectacular views of the city.
Cons:
It can get noisy as it is off a busy intersection.

DO NOT LIVE HERE
Former Tenant
Pros:
There is nothing to like about this building. It is terribly maintained and the management is unresponsive and outright negligent, disrespectful and illegal
Cons:
everything that could be wrong with this building is. From constant vermin to unannounced lock changes and theft, you will never feel at home or safe here.
Advice to owner:
DO BETTER. Treat your tenants like human beings and make sure your building is safe.

Good place to live, no big problems.
Former Tenant
Pros:
Well-kept and maintained common areas, very cool roof deck, nice and considerate neighbors. Great neighborhood. Laundry in-unit. (Though I don’t think all the apts have) Bike room in basement. Close to train.
Cons:
Trash situation got outta hand pretty quickly but that seems more on the tenants. Big building so lots of turnover. Thin walls. Maintenance was responsive but they would never send an actual plumber, electrician etc when called for - always some handyman who didn’t seem particularly handy? But No big issues overall.
Advice to owner:
Hire pros when it calls for it. Otherwise all fine.

Great community, bad management
Former Tenant
Pros:
Amazing neighbors and sense of community. Great lighting and never had a problem with leaks, bugs, etc.
Cons:
Regularly no hot water, lock on front door has been broken.
Advice to owner:
Respond to emails.

Not great. Not horrendous.
Former Tenant
Pros:
The building is well situated. Whenever the hot water goes out it has gotten fixed within the same day. I wish I could say the same for other building issues.
Cons:
The shared spaces are never cleaned, the stairs are often filthy. There are often needed repairs, such as a broken step that took months to get fixed. We once went three days without electricity before someone was send to fix it. Management is incredibly hard to get a hold of. Management refused to do anything, even simply change the door code, for MONTHS while there was an ongoing mail theft problem.
Advice to owner:
More responsiveness from management regarding repairs, electricity issues, etc. would be much appreciated.

Excellent location, ok everything else.
Former Tenant
Pros:
Pretty building, great location, great rooftop, laundry in basement
Cons:
Not super well maintained, crazy tangle of cables on the roof, sometimes takes a slight minute to get management to respond about an issue, have had issues with mice and bugs, key fob sometimes randomly goes offline and needs to be rewired.
Advice to owner:
Bring in an exterminator every month like the lease says, respond more quickly and proactively when things break or don’t work.

Former Tenant
Pros:

Cons:
Thin walls , mold problem, big problem

A good cheap option with amazing natural light coming in from front of building
Former Tenant
Pros:
Amazing natural light if your windows face the front of the building, super convenient location 3 min walk to the L train to Manhattan. Cool view of the city from rooftop.
Cons:
Loud - lots of loud cars go by often. If you're on the top floor you may hear people on the rooftop. Can get dirty in
