Okay but not great
Former Tenant
Pros:
LOVE the neighborhood, and it’s actually a really nice space
Cons:
The management company is okay, they aren’t awful but also not great. The trash out front of the building is a consistent problem.

Caught on fire due to negligence from management, they increased rent after
Former Tenant
Pros:
Location. High ceilings.
Cons:
Basically every problem you could think of for a building in nyc, 259 Jefferson has. Management was incredibly unresponsive, there were two cases where we went multiple days without hot water. The front of the building caught on fire and filled with smoke because evidently someone threw a cigarette into the recycling area that management thought it would be cool to set up right in front of the main vent for the building.
Management did less than the bare minimum to help after this, probably lost a few years off my life from all the smoke I was forced to inhale that week. You’d expect them to be open to negotiating a lower rent after providing such an awful living experience but they actually increased the rent of everyone’s units. Criminal.
Advice to owner:
Treat your tenants with respect.

Like the Building, Dislike Management
Former Tenant
Pros:
It's a nice place and the ceilings in my unit are really high. The windows in each bedroom are huge, so overall a lot of natural light comes in.
Cons:
They didn't clean/paint the place before we moved in. It was nasty. This drawer in our kitchen has been broken since we moved in. Sometimes the hot water stops working. Our packages get stolen all the time. I could go on.
Advice to owner:
Simply listen to tenants requests for repairs and acknowledge that there are problems.
