Terrible Management Company

Pros:
Neighbors are friendly. Good location. Laundry in Building.
Cons:
The management company will not fix the building that is falling apart. Leaks are abundant. Management is also disrespectful to women. They have many complaints and violations against them.
Advice to owner:
Find a new management company. The building is falling apart.

Pros:
high ceilings, nice sunlight, fairly quiet, beautiful roof
Cons:
The listing said there would be "central air," which we assumed meant central AC, but that is not the case. My bedroom has no windows, only a sunlight, so there is no place to put a window unit. The apartment was infested with roaches when we moved in. The trash piles up in front of the entrance. Management is very hard to reach.

Good space. Large bathtub. Nice area.
Cons:
Hard to heat bedrooms because windows are so drafty. No natural light in any living rooms. VERY thin walls. Have to report owners if you want anything fixed (we went three weeks without hot water/heat). Always do the bare minimum to help tenants. Have been “getting laundry” for the building for the past year. Do not live here.
Advice to owner:
If you cared half as much about your tenants as you do covering up the buildings problems it could be a nice place to live.

Pros:
Close location to the L and M trains. Walking distance to Maria Hernandez Park, 24hr Laundromat, 24hr supermarket, bars and restaurants galore!
Cons:
The owners are hands off to the point of negligence. The management company, Full Time Management is a joke. They own over 150 buildings in the 5 boroughs, have tons of complaints against them and even have a specific tenants union that was formed against them. Huge turnover in this building, which means lots of young hip tenants who think they want to live in Bushwick, but don’t know basic city trash rules and are transitory noisy neighbors at best. The pest control “service” arrives unannounced usually at 8-9am on a Monday when most tenants are at work or asleep. Hope you like cockroaches and rats, the building is full of them. The maintenance portal is a joke. If you live on the first floor your basement floods. If you live on the fourth floor your roof leaks. Oh, about the roof. They have a patio on the roof for a reason. To hide the shitty roof that leaks and welcomes in pests. The patio roof was built out of crazy shitty materials, is warped and dangerous. There is not trash management on the roof so tenants and unwelcome guests just leave trash up there that festers and clogs the gutter which results in…. You guessed it, rancid trash flavored waterfalls during rainstorms that seep into even the 2nd and 3rd floor windows. When I lived here 4 of the units tried to meet regularly and even formed a building association to try to make the landlords correct many of the issues in the building. We were met with a mix of hostility and dismissal. Needless to say, this building is not well managed. Plenty of good places to live in Bushwick, but this, sadly, is not one of them.
Advice to owner:
When the tenants of your building literally have to form a building association to address quality of life and maintenance issues maybe you should pay a little closer attention.
