AVOID THE ROACHES, DON'T GET ROBBED
Former Tenant
Pros:
The neighbors are friendly.
Cons:
This unit’s radiator broke in late October, and has been left without heat all winter. When the radiator is turned on it sprays water and clangs louder than ANY radiator I have ever heard in the 10 NYC apartments I’ve lived in. The handyman Dennis constantly tells me he’ll address it but then never does, and gets mad and yells at tenants when they try to ask him to do his job. In addition there are holes in the kitchen cabinets that let roaches come in *every* day. I’ve lived in the city for half a decade and know how common roaches are, so believe me when I say this is an infestation.

In addition, the neighbors (not in the building, next building over) are INCREDIBLY loud, and are potentially hoarding dogs - or at least running an illegal doggy daycare out of their apartment. During the day you hear dogs crying for sometimes hours, and at night you hear their many children screaming, crying, and literally throwing each other against the walls. One day you might even be as lucky as I was and be sitting in your kitchen only to see the door handle turn, leaning out your street-side window to catch that it was, in fact, one of those neighbors from 220 Troutman Street 3R attempting to break in to your apartment. So if you're trying to get robbed, this is the place for you.

Management is constantly telling me how they’re sorry and how they have many tenants complaining about their units. It’s a clear indicator that they’re nothing but slumlords who take advantage of their tenants. DO NOT RENT THIS UNIT OR ANY MANAGED BY EQUITY MANAGEMENT, ISAAC KATZ, OR THE TROUTMAN PLAZA.
Advice to owner:
Fire Dennis and treat your residents like the paying customers they are
