Dilapidated and Overpriced
Former Tenant
Pros:
Steps from Maria-Hernandez Park
Cons:
Hideous to look at with graffiti and gunshots
Horrible mail service as landlord refuses to install a buzzer
Water damage in bathroom
Old floors, mouse holes stuck with steel wool and left that way
Landlord never painted or cleaned unit before we moved in and there were strips of paint missing everywhere from where the prior tenant ripped tape off the walls
During covid my entire family lost their jobs and they forced us to pay above market rent for the duration of our lease
Lights would often blow out due to faulty wiring. Extremely difficult to communicate with management. I once asked for the removal of a deceased cat and they asked how often does the cat visit the backyard... typically they don’t even respond to emails or concerns
Moth infestation in food pantry
Cockroaches galore
Fruit flies coming from drain
Heat blasts until April and you can’t control it—you will need to run your AC all year
There is no super...there is a guy that lives next door who takes trash out for the building and sweeps hallways. He rules as a person but speaks no English, once snotted all over my floor bc his nose was running profusely and he did not care to wipe or blow it with a tissue, and cannot assist in even the changing of a light bulb.
Were charged $150 per month more than prior tenant who we were subletting from under the ruse that we would have the backyard to ourselves. 1.) the backyard reeks of dog poop from the pit bull next store whose masters don’t clean up after him 2.) feral cats will live there, some will die there and mgmt will not help remove the feline remains 3.) the neighbors will climb out their window to take over your backyard, jump in your kid’s trampoline, mgmt will not give a care at all in the direction of your liveability.
Advice to owner:
Make basic repairs for tenants
Let your tenants reach you
Be human beings
Don’t be slumlords
