Bedbugs & unresponsive management slow to remedy issues
Former Tenant
Pros:
Roof access, high ceilings. Pretty good/even light in three bedrooms (big windows and deep window sills), especially around sunset. Sound bleed between apartments is not bad. Very convenient to Dekalb L -- so close. Lots to do and eat nearby.
Cons:
Very little sound proofing between rooms (you can hear most things going on in all rooms of the apartment at all times). The stairs to the laundry in the basement are usually pretty dirty. We had a bedbug infestation and also had issues with roaches. Laundry machines often break. Overall, management is only responsive if you repeatedly call and email them to demand repair. Not helpful.

poor management! do not rent
Former Tenant
Pros:
it was okay
Cons:
no light in living room
management very slow to respond and will gaslight tenants even when there is obvious issue that is their fault
Advice to owner:
support your tenants

Loud but well located
Former Tenant
Pros:
Good view from the roof
Close to M & L
Nicely renovated bathrooms
Mail doesn’t get stolen
Repair people and exterminators are kind and do their job well
Cons:
It is so loud, you can hear everything your roommates and people in other apartments are doing and saying. No sound insulation. The roof is nice BUT management both advertises roof access and says the roof is not for hanging out/throws out the furniture on the roof at will. Management is easy to reach but harder to convince to fix problems. There are often needles and large turds on the stairs to the laundry room. Windows can be leaky when it storms. At least some apartments have had bedbugs in the past year. Trash outside is often overflowing.
Advice to owner:
Add sound insulation and put a lock on the basement stairs

Nice Starter Apartment
Former Tenant
Pros:
Responsive management, sent an exterminator monthly to see if anyone needed their services which was great. They also cleaned the hallways weekly as well and fixed what we needed done in a timely manner.
Cons:
Bugs! But that's everywhere. They value the property too highly and tried to raise the rent too much. There were no windows in the living room.
Advice to owner:
Nothing

dont move here :)
Former Tenant
Pros:
great neighborhood, close to everything! close to the L train and M train.
Cons:
management is terrible will ignore you until you continually ask them. Anytime you ask them for anything beware they will make you feel completely stupid over the phone and make it seem like you’re asking them for a favor when HELLO it’s your job that’s why I’m paying you $!! The laundry room is disgusting and is the same price as the MTA for wash and dry… that’s crazy and they give you these laundry cards that never work but besides the point the noise level in the building is terrible, you can hear people stomping down the stairs and it’s like they’re in your walls. There’s an annoying obnoxious typical bushwick dj that lives in the building and constantly plays music at every hour of the day, never stops no matter how many times you knock on the door. There is no real light coming into your apt except for the window facing the street and the window facing the backyard in a separate bedroom, other than that it’s completely dull and the lighting in the apt is so depressing. People walk down the street and look through your trash constantly and it feels like an invasion of privacy. Every now and then there will be a complete stranger that will do there business in the staircase leading to the laundry basement so don’t be so surprised when you walk downstairs and see a giant turd. Management ignores your every request if i could rate it 1 star I would.
Advice to owner:
Be better at communicating and understanding your tenants.

not even slightly acceptable
Former Tenant
Pros:
pet friendly, public hallways were kept clean, decent security
Cons:
terrible building management, laundry constantly out of service, NO SUPER INTENDANT!! They lied and said there was. roach and MICE infestations, they do not clean your unit before move in. ovens are very dangerous and fill the apartment with the smell of gas, sometimes the carbon monoxide detectors go off.
Advice to owner:
fix the laundry, replace the ovens, hire exterminators etc. is your responsibility to keep the building safe & sanitary

A fine building they think is luxury.
Former Tenant
Pros:
It was clean, good security as well. The location is fantastic! The living room was a great size as well.
Cons:
We experienced a roach problem— management pays for exterminators but it was disgusting. There are no windows in the living room and many amenities kept breaking (although management is responsive).
Advice to owner:
Don’t overvalue yourself.

Fine for a stint
Former Tenant
Pros:
Super close to the train,
restaurants, grocery stores. Great roof and laundry in basement. Central air.
Cons:
Suuuuuper loud. No sound insulation, families with babies and partying 20-30yr olds occupy the building. Impossible to focus. Lots of tenants leave stuff in the hallway and are pretty inconsiderate of the fact others live there.
