Cute place… but a little dusty
Pros
The natural light and high ceilings in the apartment were great. Place is cute and I appreciate the proximity to the L train. The management and the super were nice when we interacted. The rent was fair at the time for the place. Good roof access
Cons
No soundproofing whatsoever! I could hear the neighbors all the time… loud as hell and constantly stomping around. Management wasn’t the fastest to respond to urgent issues. We had leaks from the ceiling frequently, especially when it rained. They never really fixed the issue… The brick wall is not sealed I think so it was constantly dusty and when the upstairs neighbors jumped I swear dust flew off the walls. Also the laundry machine didn’t really clean our clothes. It deposited some stuff on our clothes somehow. Some neighbors here were so nice but other neighbors had really strange mean vibes. There were pests (roaches and mice) but not the most frequently… acceptable I guess.
Saint Nick, Cozy and Liveable
Pros
The apartment is pre-war so you won't get your usual amenities but it's extremely charming. All rooms have good closets. Big closet in living area. High ceilings. Amazing rooftop access. Only four apartments in whole building. Washer Dryer in basement is okay, not amazing but useful. Location is absolutely perfect. Exterminator comes every month.
Cons
Management doesn't always respond quickly, apartment can get very hot in the winter, very old gas stove/fridge, temporary mouse infestation but management dealt with it.
