Overall decent living spot
Former Tenant
Pros:
Nice backyard, pretty well maintained building. Maintenance requests are generally answered and resolved pretty quickly. Neighbors are relatively quiet. Trash is managed. Well insulated apartment with solid heat/AC.
Cons:
Location can be noisy, a lot of parties across the street and very loud music. Frequent ceiling debris falling in the stairwell from old leaks. Neighbors sometimes smoke inside stairwell and leave ashes/cigarette butts. Airbnb on the first floor can be annoying with incoming travelers throwing parties. Upstairs neighbor toilet overflows at least once a month and leaks into my unit.
Advice to owner:
I do have some concerns over the leaks in the unit and in the building, but overall I enjoy the space and feel like it is kept up/hallways are cleaned regularly.

Life at Menahan Manor
Former Tenant
Pros:
-Aesthetically pleasing design and decor, homey vibe, nice light fixtures, didn’t just feel like I was living in a grey box
-LOVELY backyard, well maintained (by the tenants)
-Cleaned regularly in common areas
-Good location
Cons:
-Building falling into major disrepair, flooding in basement, rodents in the walls, leaks in upper floor ceilings
-Landlord took our entire deposit without saying anything to us, never sent an itemised receipt
-Landlord claimed they were going to paint and clean before move in, it never happened
-Would often take at least 24 hours for emergency repairs to get done
-Could be unbearably cold in the winter in parts of the apartment
-Dryer in building broken for months on end, washer never really got anything clean
-The street could be extremely loud at times
-Disgusting bathrooms that no amount of cleaning could fully fix
Advice to owner:
Please care about the building and your tenants, it will make everyone’s life, including your own, better.
