Apt looks nice at first glance, but you WILL regret living here.
Former Tenant
Pros:
Good natural light. Close to trains and the hubbub street, Broadway. Nice coffee shop near by.
Cons:
I deeply regret living here.

Ceiling Leak —> The 3rd floor and 2nd floor of this building leak anytime there is a slight rain. Landlords won’t fix. They were made aware in October, and they waited until April to fix this. In April, instead of fixing the roof, the super plastered over the leak, so water is still entering the building, but collecting behind the walls.

Infestation --> There was an ant infestation. Seemed to be carpenter ants, which is probably tied to the ceiling leaks. One of the apartments has roaches. Management is aware and waited ~8 weeks to pay for an exterminator. They only paid for one session, so one of the apartments continued to get bugs/spiders/roaches.

Noise Bleed —> The noise bleed is insane. The street itself is quiet, but the walls are absurdly thin. I can hear my roommate if he exhales too loudly, and I can hear the 3rd floor neighbor talking on her phone in Spanish. Don’t even think about having any parties if someone lives below you.

Landlord Negligence —> The Landlords are negligent and the building manager seems to be semi-incompetent (but nice.) If anything needs to be repaired, even if it is absolutely urgent, you need to send multiple back to back emails to get them to respond. If they respond, they will send someone to “look at it”, but nothing actually gets fixed.

Regarding the leaking ceilings on 3rd and 2nd floor -- the super lied and said “he needed to look at the 3rd floor to fix this”, when the 2nd floor tenant knew that he already did that, and that was not the issue. He was called out on the spot, and he changed his story about the issue. After radio silence for 2 weeks, they "looked at the roof", and made repairs. The leaks were as bad as ever after these repairs, and the repair job on the roof was absolutely atrocious.

Mold —> One of the tenants found mold in the apt, and they have not responded to ANY calls to fix it. It has been 3 months. They have no plans to fix the mold or water damage.

Intimidation --> The building manager called one of the tenants and tried to verbally force them to pay an extra month of rent after the original lease ended because the tenant did not provide 30 days notice that they were moving out. This "30 day notice" is nowhere in the lease.

Gross Disrespect --> In email chains to the landlords, they have a habit of only responding to and addressing the man on the lease. The woman was been ignored and removed from email threads multiple times.
Advice to owner:
When you don't fix issues promptly, things get exponentially worse. The infestation is directly tied to the leaking ceiling.
