Pros:
spacious rooms and bright light. apartments have 2 entrances. affordable rent. nice roof access.
Cons:
landlord enters apartment without notice. neighbors steal packages. water leaks in from windows and into below units. front door to building does not close properly. mice.
Advice to owner:
clean the hallways and stairs. get a better property manager.

SLUMLORD BUILDING

Nothing. Absolutely nothing.
Cons:
The neighborhood was sketchy at night. No one picked up their dogs poop either. Roughly 10-15 min walk from trains. My room wasn’t cleaned before I moved in, it was covered in filth and trash left everywhere from the previous tenant. My roommates used my room for beer pong without permission when I wasn’t home, leaving a mess in my room and my stuff moved around. Men who didn’t even live in the building sat on the stoop and talked, smoked, and laughed so loudly all night long. There was so many disgusting boxes of used tampon shells underneath the bathroom sink. It was awful.
Advice to owner:
For the longest time I thought his name was Allen Stark, turns out it was Aron Stark. He was really polite but in a sketchy uncomfortable way. Like you knew something was off. Avoided calls, but was only reachable when rent was due. Never gave me back my security deposit when I did nothing but clean that room spotless and was barely home. He blocked my number as soon as I moved out.
