Everything. No heat, he was issued 5 violations for this month alone because he refuses to turn on the heat...he bought us space heaters to basically pay to heat our own apartments. He refuses to make repairs but he wants the rent on time no matter what and he will threaten you with court if you are late. The apartments are super tiny and he wants top dollar. The building has no maintenance person and it doesn't get cleaned. The appearance is disgusting. But his house is spotless and gorgeous. We cant even park in our own driveway because he wont allow us to. He doesn't exterminate much either. My repairs have existed years before I even moved in. My stove, fridge, toilet, and shower all broke down in some way and i had to get ot all fixed. There are electrical issues in the apartment as well as leaks and holes in the ceiling due to water damage. AND ALL OF THIS AND MY RENT WAS PAID FOR A YEAR UP FRONT! I moved in with a voucher but since he already had my rent for a year he blocked me from calling his phone so that i couldn't bother him about the repairs. The upstairs neighbor throws parties every weekend making noise and stomping over my head and the landlord doesn't intervene. The windows wont open. He also spreads gossip amongst the tenants to stir up trouble, telling them who pays rent and who doesn't, who has a voucher and who doesn't, who is having trouble financially etc.
Advice to the owners
Stop being a slumlord and treat your tenants with respect. Make repairs because that's what you get rent for. Provide heat during the winter. Clean the building regularly and exterminate as well. Allow the tenants to use the driveway instead of allowing the next door neighbors to park there because they don't pay rent or live here. Stop spreading gossip between the tenants telling them who pays rent and who doesnt, who is having financial issues and who isn't, who is working and who isnt, who has vouchers and who doesnt, etc. And stop harassing tenants to move when we refuse to keep allowing you to take our money when you refuse to make repairs and provide heat, etc. And pay your Bill's so the lien can be removed from the property.
