Cute place LOTS of issues
Former Tenant
Pros:
Spacious apartments, very kind super, nice people in the building.
Cons:
Two fire alarms have been chirping every minute for almost a year. They’re in the building next door (same owner) and can be heard throughout the entire building.
Noise from street. Trash is a problem. Disgusting hallways that are littered with cigarette butts and ash. Windows constantly falling off their tracks/breaking. Hot water is inconsistent. Lots of problems.
Advice to owner:
Just care a little bit? It’s not hard.

old but serviceable
Former Tenant
Pros:
good heat, solid walls, no package theft, responsive super
Cons:
serious electrical problems are deep and will never be fixed, water temperature fluctuates dangerously, complex repairs take forever to schedule
Advice to owner:
make sure manager and super have a clear list of priorities

Maintenance issues developed over time
Former Tenant
Pros:
Prewar Character, size, price, location
Cons:
Maintenance is shotty. Hard time finding a dedicated super after long term one retired. Communication on repairs is heavily put on the tenant.

Don’t live here if you have asthma! They don’t treat for mold and there are constantly ceiling leaks from the old radiators and poor repairs.

Dirty halls. Garbage piles up. Didn’t used to be this way but management must’ve stopped paying the new super.

4 plugs in whole apartment. It’s dangerous.

Water is unpredictable and gets extremely hot quickly. No notice when no hot water isn’t available.
Advice to owner:
Maintenance and the communication of it matters to people. Please care more about the residents and their health and safety. Hire more than one super for your multiple buildings and pay them!!

At all costs DO NOT MOVE HERE
Former Tenant
Pros:
Refinished Hardwood floors, decent price, no bedbugs, Kind neighbors that put plants in the lobby and take care of the plants on the sidewalk
Cons:
10 floods in 3 years, Ceiling collapsed 2 times in bathroom, Lights fell out of the ceiling while I was showering, I had to fix most damage myself from these- as no one comes to help, Hot water is out often, If the hot water is working it isn't constant- making it nearly impossible to shower comfortably and not burn yourself, drafty old windows, filthy hallways full of trash and dead bugs, broken windows in hallway, hallways and stairwell almost never cleaned, trash piles up for weeks in front of the building including lots of broken glass, black mold in the bathroom took me a year to get rid of, 3 outlets in the entire apartment, all modern "renovations" are cheaply and poorly done, super is friendly in person but never responds to his phone, management responds slowly or not at all, packages stolen often, when I moved in I had to install the handles on the fridge, cabinets, etc. I could keep going but that feels like enough to convince you that this place is terrible and neglected and you really shouldn't move here if you have a choice.
Advice to owner:
Get a new boiler, get cleaning and trash protocols in place, when there are leaks treat for mold- this is a respiratory death trap. Don't pile the trash in the yard in front of the building. Get more trashcans and more recycling, get a bike rack, maybe care about the health and safety of your tenants.

Do not recommend
Former Tenant
Pros:
The apartment itself was large and relatively cheap.
Cons:
MGMT is incredibly unresponsive. Hallways are dark and dirty. Many tenants smoke in the lobby/their apartments. Water is either scalding hot or freezing cold. Heat is either blasting or non-existent. There is mold and water damage that the owners refuse to remediate. Cockroaches on the regular. Neighbors are extremely loud at all hours of the day and night. Mail area is a disaster and packages are occasionally stolen. Front door/lock is constantly broken or propped open. Any construction will be poorly done and leave you wishing you had just lived with it broken rather than have the replacement that is janky.
Advice to owner:
Do better?
