MOVE ANYWHERE ELSE
Former Tenant
Pros:
Our apartment is sunny, with 13ft ceilings and spacious for NYC. We’re very close to the train and the park. And our neighbors are very nice. That’s the end of the pros.
Cons:
I hate it here. I hate our apartment, I hate this building but most of all I hate the management. The list of problems is so long I’m sure I’ve forgotten things. We’re stuck in this place because rents out there are insane.

Our apartment was “renovated” before we moved in. They barely did anything to update it. Old stove, old fridge, very low quality cupboards, and some tiles on the bathroom wall.

We are constantly having problems! Heat is often not on at night and somehow it’s always off on the coldest nights. Imagine an entire building of families- babies, elderly people, people with disabilities- all freezing in their homes at night. This is what we’ve dealt with every winter. The hot water goes out for a short time practically every night for no reason. We’ve had multiple major plumbing problems in the kitchen and bathroom. Mice! Roaches!

The elevators frequently break down leaving people stuck inside. The fire department is tired of coming to fix it! And when the elevators are running, they stop a few inches below the floor level. This makes it very frustrating to get out when you’ve got a cart. But it’s especially frustrating for our neighbor in a wheelchair. The building put out a ramp for him at the front door, but it’s too steep for him to get up by himself.

There is laundry in the basement, but right now 2 of the 3 driers are non functioning. In a building with 71 apartments, that’s really unacceptable.

It’s loud outside every night. The building is a few blocks from SUNY Downstate/Kings County so there are always ambulances flying down Clarkson.

I count the minutes until I can move to a nice place. Do not move into this building. You will deeply regret it.
Advice to owner:
The most important thing I can say is that you need to remember that we are all real people living in this building. Your unwillingness to fix the long long list of problems in this property is revolting. This management barely fulfills the most basic responsibilities of a landlord. Fix the broken shit in this place. And treat your tenants with dignity and respect.

5 years of residing in this building
Former Tenant
Pros:
Great location, close to subway and Prospect Park, Across the street from Supermarket
Cons:
Super does the best he can but is encumbered with constant maintenance requests, management company is AWFUL. Negligent, no customer service, just a voice mail you have to answer to several times in hopes for someone to reach out. Several leaks in my apartment occured over the years and barely anything was done. Avoid Pinnacle if you can
Advice to owner:
Be transparent, get better customer service (although it feels deliberate, so there's nothing they will do)

Could be better
Former Tenant
Pros:
Great location, near trains and shops. Large apartments with cheap prices, two elevators, laundry in the basement.
Cons:
After the pandemic, lack of follow-up from management & super. People loitering in hallways/staircases throughout the day & night. Roof leaks into the top floor apartments. Package theft.
Advice to owner:
More upkeep is needed for this building.
