Old building poor management

Pros

The space of the apartment is great and is in a good neighborhood. There is an elevator and laundry in building

Cons

Management said they wouldnt preform needed mantinence on my apartment before i moved in. I called management to have someone come out and assess if my floors needed repair and no one showed up. The day i moved in (early in the morning) i found out coned hadnt turned on my electric and i had to call the super four times throughout that day asking him to get me the box number so electricity could be turned on. Many people in the building have issues with roaches and i only got my apartment free of them by buying fine wire mesh to cover the radiators. Often hallways and the lobby area are left dirty and uncleaned.

Advice to the owners

The building has great potential but no care is given in maintaining it and addressing tenants needs

Decent building w/lazy management and slow super

Pros

This building has nice sized apartments, close to Prospect Park, elevator works most of the time, laundry in building. Rent stabilized is really nice.

Cons

The roaches are huge, the management company and super were slow to respond to repairs. I literally had mold in my bathroom and mushrooms growing from the ceiling (no lie). This issue went on for months before they properly fixed it. The super was kind but very slow to fix things. The floors are uneven which is weird.

Advice to the owners

Be more responsive and hire competent people to support tenants!
