roach infested and unresponsive management
Former Tenant
Pros:
neighbors and community. many people have lived in the building for years and are quick to welcome you in!
Cons:
roaches everywhere, the super’s and the exterminator’s solutions did not work and management is very unresponsive regarding all requests

Do not rent here
Former Tenant
Pros:
Free heat and gas
Cons:
The landlord is unresponsive. I had a mouse problem and tried to reach the landlord for month and they were unresponsive. I eventually moved out died to the infestation.
Advice to owner:
Respond to tenants

Not a well maintained building
Former Tenant
Pros:
Laundry room on every floor and heat in the winter
Cons:
Building and garbage is not maintenance well.
Roaches in the hallways.
Mice in the building
Management is non responsive
Elevator consistently breaks down
Hallways and laundry room are never cleaned.
Advice to owner:
Do a better job on cleaning the building and keeping the garbage area clean. Consistent pest control is needed every month to prevent roaches and mice and needs to include the garbage rooms. Management also needs to respond to tenants complaints.

Definition of a 3-Star Building
Former Tenant
Pros:
Spacious bedrooms/living rooms.
Lovely hardwood floors.
Most apartments get amazing natural light.
Most apartments have a sunken living room upon entry
Good closet space
Cons:
Management takes forever to respond, they’re often out of office.
Had to threaten management to get pest issue handled.
Elevator has not been updated
Packages are often stolen from mailroom
Kitchens are small, but usable
Flooring is antiquated
Shared facilities (garbage room/laundry room) on your floor are not always accessible (what’s the point in having a garbage shoot or laundry on your floor if you can’t use it)
Apartments are only painted or upgraded when you’re leaving
Advice to owner:
The current super is trying his best; however, management operates like they do not really care whether things get addressed or not. It’s frustrating to be dealing with a pest issue for months on end because management move at a snails pace.

Do not live here
Former Tenant
Pros:
Sizes of apartments are bigger than normal NYC apartments.
Con: there were very little COVID measures put into place during the pandemic. The super still I’d get together a or everyday congregations of people that hang out in front of the building.
Common areas were barely sanitized and if they were they were BARELY sanitized.
Cons:
Neighbors harrass you
Super refuses to many fixes to the apt
Super and neighbors harassed me to the point where I had anxiety leaving out of the apartment
The leasing off tried to evict me because of homphobia
The laundry facilities are filthy
The apartments and the building as a whole is infested with roaches.
There was black mold growing on the ceiling of our bathroom due to lack of ventilation
Had to learn how to fix an oven pilot because super refused to come and fix it but sent a drunk loiterer to fix it instead...
Lady upstairs made so much noise and stomped so hard that at the end of my stay here there were crack in the ceiling.
The garbage disposal on each floor never works
The super has large functions downstairs (during COVID) no mask on just people walking and eating in his apt and in the lobby
Advice to owner:
Cons Continued: the super smoked weed with the tenants even though it’s prohibited in or around the building. I know another landlord who came to the building and called the building filthy himself. That speaks volumes. For starters get rid of the super, get the pest problem under control, and then do a deep cleaning of the building. It’s disgusting. You can literally find roaches crawling on walls outside of your apt or in the lobby while waiting to the elevator. And fix the elevator I’ve gotten stuck in there twice. Very scary seeing as though it’s an ancient (and filthy) elevator. Point blank just find someone willing to actually work, and the building MIGHT get better. Because the tenants have nasty attitudes. To newcomers or to anyone of the LGBTQ. Another tenant literally told me they were reacting like this because they didn’t “know” me. As if that’s a grounds to harass someone where they reside.
