Building okay, but sublet nightmare
Former Tenant
Pros:
Apartment itself is fairly recently refinished, new kitchen appliances and nice bathroom
Cons:
Building itself is NOT well kept. Staircase and railing is unsafe and broken in multiple places, windows along staircase do not close/open. SERIOUS problem with package theft and building security. Lobby is not cleaned very often and an exterminator is supposed to come once a month, but I have never seen them. Although a lot of the finishes and stuff were new, we had issues with things not working and management rarely responding- not sure if this was the fault of the mgmt or my sublettor.
EDIT: post lease end, major issues with receiving rental deposit back from subletter & management. Deposit not returned within the 14 day period per NY law & myself and another sublettor are being forced to take legal action
Advice to owner:
Be more responsive- professionalism in tenant/financial disputes is extremely lacking.

This has been a long year at this place and it’s been awful management all year
Former Tenant
Pros:
Literally nothing. Cosmetically it looked perfect but there were a million problems the dishwasher didn’t open all the way the washer and dryer never worked properly
Cons:
Landlord never responded to us in a timely manner. At some point we had an issue with every single appliance and it was rare someone was ever sent usually we just tried to fix it ourselves
Advice to owner:
Do something about all the nice appliances! It’s a shame that it has so many problems cause the neighborhood is also a bit of a nightmare
